Chapter #3

Magic

Pale, rail-thin, and bespectacled; fifteen year old Jeff Samuels threw his book-bag over his shoulder, let out a deep, resigned sigh and headed out the front door into the world beyond. By no means a social butterfly, Jeff was most definitely not looking forward to yet another day at school. With his love of sci-fi, comics, and video gaming, and an intellect far in excess of his fellow students, the young many often found himself the odd man out among his classmates.

Jeff did his best to put his social concerns aside and headed on down the sidewalk toward his neighbors house. His buddy Dane, a friend for as long as Jeff could remember had none of the problems fitting in that he did. Fit, good looking, and with a cocky personality, the taller blond boy was a shining star amongst the popular cliques at school. What little social standing Jeff did have came as a direct result of Dane's having maintained their childhood friendship up until the present day.

Jeff was grateful for this to be sure; but, if he were pressed he would have to admit that he resented Dane more than a little. His friend tended to act in a slightly demeaning, condescending manner towards him; almost as if he were doing Jeff a favor by sinking so low as to associate with him.

As Jeff got closer to the house he slowed his pace. He came to a stop as he spotted something most peculiar on his friend's front door. During the night, someone had apparently put some very strange graffiti on it. A red hand-print surrounded by strange red script had been scrawled across it. Jeff puzzled over it a bit before finally shrugging and heading around to the home's back door.

Jeff knocked on the back door, getting a muffled "Come in dude." from Dane in response.

Dane sat at the kitchen table, shoveling in mouthfuls of cereal as he caught the sports recap from the night before on the television. "Morning Jeffy. Want some cereal? I'd say check out the scores but I know you're too big a nerd to care." he chuckled as he flashed Jeff a grin.

Jeff gave a slightly annoyed look in response before answering. "No thanks. Already had a couple of Pop Tarts. Don't get too wrapped up in that sports crap though. We have to get heading to school soon. By the way, what is up with the weird crap painted on your front door?" he asked.

Dane continued watching the television as he answered matter-of-factly; "We don't know. My Dad spotted it this morning. Pissed him off. Probably somebody's stupid idea of a prank or something."

"Not a very funny one if it was. Good morning Jeffrey, good to hear at least you are concerned with school." a woman's voice interjected as someone entered the room. Jeff did his best not to hop out of his chair. Despite being around her all his life, his heart always skipped a beat and his manhood always snapped too attention when his buddy Dane's Mom entered the room. Tall, blonde, busty, and absolutely gorgeous, Mrs. Teal was a teenage boy's wet dream come to life.

As Dane continued watching the sports nonsense on t.v., Jeff did his best to look at Mrs. Teal without being too obvious about his staring. In her early forties, the extremely fit woman carried herself with the poise and confidence of someone who was entirely sure of just how amazing they looked. Dressy and elegant for her job as a Real Estate Agent, the lovely woman was dressed for success today. Jeff drank in her ensemble as she went about getting herself a cup of coffee.

Mrs. Teal had her blonde hair up in a bun today, with a pair of delicate pearl earrings on her charming lobes. She wore a matching black suit jacket and skirt. The jacket was well tailored and almost too small, doing a fine job of showing off her narrow waist and pronounced cleavage poking out from a strategically buttoned white blouse. Her skirt was almost too small as well; riding a bit high on her remarkable thighs and hugging her wide hips to great effect. Jeff practically drooled as he looked over her long, luscious legs. He couldn't be sure, but it appeared that Mrs. Teal was wearing stockings; stockings that were marvelously dark and had delightful seams running up the back of her legs. On her feet, Mrs. Teal balanced herself on a pair of very high, black patent leather, stiletto heels.

Looking her over, Jeff actually felt a little faint. Snapping out of it, Jeff looked at the clock and was just about to tell Dane that they should probably start heading out when something incredibly strange interrupted him.

Mrs. Teal dropped her coffee and gasped, standing ram-rod straight and looking dead ahead of herself with a shocked expression on her face. Her eyes went wide as a strange blur began to shimmer around her face and head. Dane, pulled away from his breakfast and t.v. by his Mother's sudden bizarre reaction, stood up and took a step toward her. "Mom! What's wrong?!?!? Are you okay!?!?!" he asked as the strange blur continued to grow in intensity around the apparently shocked woman's head.

Unknown to the trio in the kitchen, at that very moment the painted hand and writing on the front door began to glow with a strange, supernatural light.

The strange blur totally obscured Mrs. Teal's head as it grew even more intense. Dane was just about to grab his Mother when suddenly the blur faded out, revealing the head it obscured. To Jeff and Dane's utter bewilderment and absolute horror, the fading blur left behind a head on Mrs. Teal's lovely neck that wasn't there before it started! Mrs. Teal's cranium had vanished; replaced by...
