Your name is Lace. You live as a Lucario in a tent hidden within a cliff side, far and secluded from other pokemon. So with being isolated for a large portion of your adulthood, you aren't sure how the infection started; in fact, no one knew. It wasn't even diagnosed as an infection until the recent behaviors of the pokemon changed.
At some certain point of time, a supposed disease of some sort was sent out into your land, infecting only a few anthros when the epidemic hit. Apparently, once infected, the host pokemon would begin to lose all of their memories and become impossibly hungry, forgetting who they were, and who they knew to become a ravage animal! They would eat villagers, even sometimes raping their victims before devouring them, and as word has it, biting them infect them too. Some travelers and safety searchers that have past your home say that a poison was released in a river to start the infection, others say it was just another natural way for the apocalypse to occur and destroy life to start all over again, whereas a few pokemon mention something about microscopic pokemon being up to this disaster.
Ever since the infected began to spread their virus in some mysterious way while avoiding eating others, the number of ferals increased, causing them to muster plentiful strength and speed as their eyes become a faint purple. They now roam the entire island, eating or infecting every living body near them. Many pokemon, like you, live in isolation from abandoning an overrun village or from other dangerous non-infected pokemon that become cannibals by the corruption of the infection has caused without even being infected. There were plenty of cannibalistic pokemon that would love a squirming Lucario to stew in their guts, so even if a traveler found their way close to your camp, you were sure to make small talk before sending them on their way. You hated the constant loneliness and fear of having to go outside for food, wondering if today was going to be your last, but what does one do in such a chaotic time? Whatever was causing this, you were sure to stop it.
So, you began to pack and prepare for a region-crossing mission to save the land you lived on. You picked out food, created tools and packs for the trip, and even a few medical supplies from certain plants. You only needed one more item before taking off for your trip, and it thrived in a local forest that you knew was crawling with infected pokemon, where you had a small encounter with a Pinsir.
----|----
Walking through the wet grass, your sagging belly bounced with each step with your stomach already beginning to digest the infected Pinsir. Its motions had ended just moments ago, sending out a growl of pleasure from the churning gut. You blissfully pat the fuzzy orb as you continued through the forest. During your travels you check the spiks that adorn on your forepaws and chest. As a recently evolved young one, you had despised the sharp projections that put fear into anyone who dared to touch you, or give a handshake, or to even hug. In a spiteful rage towards them, you obtained a smooth stone and grinded it against the spike's tips, dulling them out all the way until they were mere, hard bumps. What seemed like a good act to do for your part has turned quite sour. If only you had known about the infection, you would have left the spikes there, for maybe it would save you from a feral that wouldn't risk devouring a sharp meal. Now the monsters get to have the luxury of tasting and swallowing a Lucario meal which is rare around these parts. You shudder just at the thought. Nearing the edge of a stream, you finally locate what you were looking for this entire time. A bush, flourished with rare berries, blankly sat planted on a small isle within the stream in the wide open, just for the taking. Checking the water, you browse your sight into the murky water, not even being able to see the bottom anymore.
The recent storm must have washed mud into the river, but no matter. You remembered where parts of the water were only knee deep and besides, the berries on the other side were a necessity to your journey. Then again, you also remember an infected Dewgong had emerged from the river in a recent visit in the past. You had managed to get away before it gobbled you up in its snapping maw, but you never knew what happened to it afterwards. You hoped that it had moved on down the river since then, due to the fact that you didn't know anyone living anywhere close to this place. It probably became hungrier and went after a different location for some anthro with the misfortune of being devoured by it. Risking it, you step into the flowing water, making your way in the murky creek to the tempting bush.
After a few slip ups and stammering steps, you finally reach the shore line, getting out of the water before heading towards the bush, all until you heard a distant splash. You quickly turn around to see a female anthro Vaporeon, standing in the stream with… | Members who added to this interactive story also contributed to these: |
