Leroy woke up with a headache and a yawn. He asked himself did he overslept, but then saw that he wasn't in his own room. The room he was in had nothing in it but walls and pillars of eggshell brown.
"This is definitely not my room, " Leroy said looking around the empty room. He assumed this had to be a trick. He looked around again and saw that there was something that wasn't there before. It was a podium of the same color of the room, and on that podium was an old looking book with a quail and a bottle of ink next to it, surrounded by a halo of light. Leroy felt compelled to walk to the book. He wondered where the light came from, seeing no light switch in the room. As he walked closer to the podium he saw there was a hole in the ceiling where the light came in. That answered one question, but a new question emerged when he looked up at the hole. Where did the light actually come from? All he saw nothing but a black void and the twinkling of stars. He decided to ignore that for now, and see what this book was about.
He looked at the title, and read it aloud. "The Book of Reality?" He opened the book, and read the first sentences and probably the only sentences in the book since nothing else came after the last one. "Congratulations, chosen sentient being! You have been chosen to own the Book of Reality. With this book, for better or worse, you can now change the fabric of reality to the way your heart desires. "
Leroy rolled his eyes in disbelief. "This is bound to be a trick, " he said looking around the room for any places that could be hiding a camera. "Alright, I will play along. My clothes will spontaneously combust, but won't hurt me at all," he says picking up the quail and writing in the book, "in fact I won't feel a thing, and will be naked instead. " he finished writing, placing the quai back in the ink. He crossed his arms and waited for the effect of the book to kick in.
"Nothing happened-" he said before his clothes became covered in flames. "Oh, fu-" he yelled dropping to the floor, expecting the agony of death by burning alive to come over him. But something was wrong. There was no pain at all. "I'm not going to die?" He asked as he got off the floor. Suddenly the flames were gone, and he felt a major draft. He looked down and saw his exposed genitals and a pile of ash on the floor. Leroy was astonished to say the least. Every thing he wrote in the book came true. He wrote in the book that this would be enough to convince him, and he really did have the power to change reality. It didn't take long for that to happen.
"I am going to have fun with this, " Leroy said apparently forgetting he was naked. Not that mattered to him at the moment. Leroy wondered what the first thing to do with the book now that he was convinced.
And it will be the reader's choice if he decides to use the book to get his clothes back.
New option: 1-05-25: Leroy creates his own fictional tribe
