A great feast

Sam and the rest of the delegation followed the Eraxi delegation into a room where they found a great feast. A long table was filled with both Earth and Eraxi dishes. The Eraxi leader picked up a plate and offered it to Sam. Sam accepted it and went to the food and selected a small sample of a number of dishes. The rest of his delegation was also given plates and they were all seated with the Eraxi at a long table, Sam and the Eraxi leader in the middle, opposed to each other. Sam took a fork and tasted the food, it was delicious. He put the fork down and the Eraxi leader took his fork and took a bite of his food. When the Eraxi leader put his fork down, the ritual was over.
"Welcome to Eraxus" he said. His english was almost perfect.
"Thank. We look foreward to learn more about you and create strong bonds between our civilizations."

The conversation went on on the formal way, both sides felt the need to be carefull and only make the predictable formal conversation, first contact was a dangerous thing, a small mistake could ruin a lot.
A group of servants had apperared and was offering food from the buffet to them so they didn't have to leave the conversation. Sam wasen't really hungry, but was afraid of seeming ungratefull and rude on their first meeting. By the looks of the other humans felt the same way.
After the food...
