"Well, I guess I cold help you out" You reluctantly say.
"Are you sure?" Twilight looks a little surprised, "I wasn't really expecting you to say yes. That was just a joke!"
"But, it'd be a great way to get to know each other, " You point out.
"That is true!" She says, "And making a new friend would help me with my friendship research."
"Then it works out perfectly, you finish your magic experiments and make a new friend for the Princess!"
You both laugh, and spend the next hour chatting over your wheatgrass juice. You tell her all about your life traveling around, and how many exotic creatures you've met, from griffons to giraffes. Your stories enthrall her, and she's literally begging you to tell more, before you decide it's her turn to tell stories.
She talks all about her friends and the various adventures they've gone on right here in Ponyville. They've seen some crazy stuff, like Parasprite invasions and a dragon that threatened to suffocate the entire town!
"Life here is much more exciting than I thought," you admit.
Twilight chuckles, "Oh, it's not so bad for a small town."
"Well then," You drop your cup in the sink and walk back to the table, "What was it that you wanted me to help you with?"
Twilight puts a hoof to her chin to think, "Well..."
