You're Ken, and you were born and raised in New Domino.
You were on your Duel Runner one day, testing out new parts you put into it and while you were listening to the wind and started to think about your past.
Your parents were scientists who worked with Dr. Fudo on the old Ener-D Reactor and died in the Zero Reverse disaster, but they left you a blank card to remember them by.
While growing up, you were told by almost everyone that the people of the sStelite were lowly and that you dont' need to pay any mind to it. But you and your friend Demitra thought that the people of Satelite didnt deserve to be kept on the floating city and that they should be residants of New Domino as well.
As for Demitra, she has been your best friend since Childhood, and it was her parents that took you in when you lost your family. Both of you loved dueling and attended the best Duel Acadamy in New Domino and were in the top 5 best in your class. You were number 2 and she was 3, though the only reason you both werent 2 was one misread of a card that Demitra made, otherwise you two would be tied. As for the top student was, he was Anoka. He was like the Jack Atlas of your school and he even tried his hardest to be just like the real Jack, and even when Jack lost the fortune cup, he didnt lose hope. And he wasn't exactly Mr. nice guy, worshiping Jack or not.
After all this happened, you still managed to keep your head held high and graduated from the acadamy with the best grades, but were still just #2 in your class.
You and Demitra always dreamed about being the best duelists in New Domino and after graduating, you two saved up enough money to buy the parts to build you own Duel Runners and you were proud of them.
You snapped out of your trance when you heard the sound of another Duel Runner behind you. it seemed like what you and Demitra heard on the news: the Ghost, a mysterious Turbo Duelist that had been attacking other duelists and wrecking their Duel Runners.
When you asked who it was, it didnt answer and just challenged you to a duel.

Primo had a bored yet angry expression on his face and pondered, "Now lets see if this duel bot is good enough to take down this duelist." he said.
Lester was doing what he always does: giving that goofy grin and laughed. "I don't know why we're wasting our time on this." he said. "I thought we were going to wait until one of the tablets got here before we sent out the robot."
