“I can’t believe the Princess is sending us to this place” Twilight huffed as she and her assistant Spike arrived in Ponyville in the chariot provided by Princess Celestia.
“Well Princess Celestia does have a point.” Spike said, “You really could do with the exercise.”
Upon being told this Twilight shot Spike a sharp glare for his comment on her "physique".
“Erm beside,” the baby dragon quickly added “This is an important task she's given you.”
Knowing that he was right Twilight gave a sigh of defeat, “All right, you win, but let’s make this quick, I’m getting hungry.” As she said this, Twilight thought about why she was here.
Flashback
“Spike! Did you find it yet?” Twilight asked, using her magic to move a stack of books aside.
“Not yet,” the baby dragon answered, digging through a pile pillows that lay in a corner of the room, “are you sure it’s here? You could have been mistaken.”
Twilight looked up from the book she was looking through,
“Yes, I am sure, now keep looking, those cupcakes are here somewhere.”
As he continued searching for the missing baked goodies, Spike gave a quick glance over to the purple gray pony. Ever since she was a little filly, Twilight has always had what her parents called a ‘healthy appetite’, she was always seen munching on a number of snacks while she studied and it had only continued to grow as she got older during her studies under Princess Celestia. It was therefore no big surprise that time, Twilight changed into the 180 pound pony she is now. A thick layer of fat wrapped round her legs and back while her large stomach hung down and shook as she walked.
Returning to the search, Spike shifted a set of books across the bookcase he was looking through and spotted what he was looking for.
“I found them!” Spike yelled lifting the box of cupcakes up above his head.
“Good job Spike.” Twilight smiled and used her magic to take the cupcakes from her young assistant and quickly took a bite out of one of them, “Yum!”
It was at this point Spike burped up a scroll from Princess Celestia,
“Oh a letter from the Princess.” Twilight said as she finished the cupcake and started on another one, “what does it say?”
Spike quickly unrolled the letter and, clearing his throat, began to read,
“My dearest, most faithful student Twilight,
While I am glad to see you having quite an interest in continuing your studies, it has come to my attention that you have become, to kindly put it, quite overweight. There is more to a young pony’s life then simply just studying and snacks. I am therefore sending you to supervise the preparation for the Summer Sun Celebration in this year’s location, Ponyville, and I have an even more essential task I wish you to complete, making some friends.”
*End Flashback*
And so, after a quick ride over in a chariot pulled by two of Celestia’s guards, Twilight sparkle was now here in Ponyville, the library being set up as her and Spike’s home.
“I still don’t see why Princess Celestia feels I should spend less time reading.” Twilight said as she walked with a slight waddle down the town’s main road with Spike, “Okay, so maybe I am a little bit on the large side for a pony of my age, but I don’t really see that as any good reason to spend me all the way here just to make friends.”
“I’m sure she has a good reason Twilight” the baby dragon replied, looking through the list of tasks they were giving.
“Alright let’s get these celebration preparations done and over with before we miss lunch.” the purple pony said with a slightly impatient tone.
“Well, I guess the first thing we could do is go and check to see how the food for the Celebration ‘s banquet is coming along.” Spike said, checking the checklist “According to this, Sweet Apple Acres is in charge, or we could go and check how the weather for is doing, a pony called Rainbow Dash is suppose to be in charge of clearing the clouds.”
