Once Johanna had finished explaining her dilemma to Professor Rowan, he was quiet for a long moment, studying the distraught mother in front of him with some scrutiny. Her eyes were shadowed with endless nights of little to no sleep, and she had a weary, gaunt look to her face. Her had seen Dawn around and about before now, and he had to agree whole heartedly that she was worryingly thin. Johanna had every right to worry, even though he was a little surprised that she had come to see him, of all people.
"The doctors have tried everything," Johanna explained, her hands clasped tightly in her lap, "But nothing seems to work. I know your speciality is pokemon, but you're a man of science. And you're very smart. And.. I know you care about the young trainers," she gazed at him imploringly, "Isn't there anything you can suggest?" The Professor looked up for a moment in thought, before giving a short nod.
"Berry juice," he announced, rifling through his papers for more information, "It's a relatively new idea based on the discovery that berries have different effects when they're squeezed into a juice. We've had a few trials on pokemon and humans, and there's no dangers involved, though I can't promise a cure either. The effects aren't completely written in stone, but we did notice some weight gain with a couple of the trials." He found the sheet he was looking for, laying it out in front of Johanna.
"Right now we've only got two juices that would help her," Rowan pointed out down the list, "Those two. But we have this juice," he added, pointing to one that was surrounded mostly by question marks, "That's still in testing. That could help her, it could not. But I can safely say that it would not harm her in the slightest. I would never suggest you try the berry juice otherwise."
Johanna looked up uncertainly, before casting her eyes down to the neatly typed sheet.
GANLON BERRY JUICE
Effects: Increased appetite. Slower metabolism. Weight gain.
APICOT BERRY JUICE
Effects: Bloating in the abdomen area. Increases stomach size.
ROWAP BERRY JUICE
Effects: Unknown. Testing still in process
Johanna frowned gently as she thought over which one to choose.
