You spread.

As much as you want to have a four-way with yourself right then, you realize that with your new ability, and a little patience, you can have hundreds more bodies, ranging in age from years younger than Julie's to rather older than your mom's, and while you're not sure how you feel about inhabiting very young or very old bodies, you can always change any body you want to suit your tastes.

Holding the stone, you make your desires reality.

"My mother is paid an extremely generous retainer, triple her current salary, by her current employer. She does not have to perform any duties of any sort to collect this retainer." Now, in your mother's body, you can sit at home and take anyone who might stop by, or be unfortunate enough to be seen out the window whenever you look out--and from there you will spread further.

"Without exception, every student, teacher and other staff member at Alice's school will be in attendance today for the full day." The stone stops glowing after this, but you had already begun packing Alice's and Julie's bags and as the stone glows again, they are almost ready to leave.

"Without exception, every student, teacher and other staff member at Julie's school will be in attendance today for the full day." This time the stone does not take as long to begin glowing again; you imagine this is because Julie's school is rather smaller than Alice's.

"Without exception, every student, faculty member and other staff member at the local university will be on campus today from one hour from now until midnight." The stone goes dark after this, but then you expected as much, since the university is large, and some students and professors are far afield. You do notice that you are feeling no compulsion as Alice or Julie to attend school. You suppose that this is because they are in fact you, and you are not a student at those schools.

You have already spread to many other bodies from Alice and Julie passing them on the street. Even the merest glimpse is enough, and so you're behind the wheel of numerous vehicles, riding many bicycles, doing tricks on skateboards--not to impress anyone, but because you can--and other such things. You haven't given much thought as to what you'll do as you spread and take over more bodies; maybe with all the knowledge you will accumulate and the single will you will be able to exert, you will progress further in a few years than humanity managed in centuries. You're not sure where the stone originated, but if whomever had it previously comes back for it, the more of you there are and the better able you are to defend yourself, the better.

Meanwhile Julie has arrived at school and already you can feel yourself in many of the bodies of the students and staff there. Alice's route takes longer, but most of it is on a busy bus route, allowing you to spread even faster. You, stone in pocket, have begun driving to the university, finding the traffic much easier when it's mostly controlled by you. Your mother isn't looking out the window--instead, you've given her body the sexual reactions and stamina of a younger woman and are feeling your first multiple orgasms.

Alice arrives at school, and, as with Julie, you spread through its population. Many of your other bodies have begun infecting their workplaces or schools. A few have even arrived at the local airport, and you shiver with anticipation at the thought of spreading beyond your current city.

You arrive at the university. You had chosen to come here, rather than the college on the other side of town, because of the way the students here always looked down on students at the college. You were also already taking over the college--and indeed, you could feel yourself in many bodies on this campus, too--but since you planned to attend that college, you took these students' superiority complex somewhat personally, and so decided to oversee their integration in your original body. Soon no lectures are being delivered on campus, no professors are doing research, no students are studying for exams. You're getting acquainted with thousands of new bodies--in many cases, intimately so. You feel a flood through your mind as many thousands of people achieve orgasm in any given second, but your distributed consciousness is able to handle the emotions of hundreds of thousands--or is it millions, now? You've actually lost track--of people.

As you continue to spread, though slowed by the inconvenience of travel times now that you have possessed almost everyone in your metropolitan area, you wonder if you should leave some people uncontrolled--or free some of those you currently control--or whether you should aim to unite the world in your single mind.
