Chapter #3

Animal control.

    by: kamper Author IconMail Icon
You start to wake up but can’t move. You vaguely remember what happened but can’t believe it. You try to move your arms, thinking that maybe it was all just a dream, but alas it either was real or you can’t feel your limbs. You open your eyes as you hear multiple steps outside of some kind of wall. You look start to look around, only to see a bunch of people with animal control uniforms on. They had just got done unloading you into a large glass container like box. You looked down to make sure you still weren’t dreaming and you see a familiar set of scales that you saw in the mirror last night.

You had seen multiple snakes on the internet but none (especially anacondas) but you had never seen the patterns that made up the design on your scales. It was like the tattoo you always wanted, a dragon being stabbed in the gut by the handle of a Battle axe as it is lunged down the flames enveloping but not covering the blade and traveling up, stopping between your eyes.

You had left your head and body relatively still since you awoke. Remembering that most can’t tell if a snake is awake simply by its eyes but now that you had gained your senses back you began moving around. The container you were in allowed for movement but was anything but roomy. You thought it would be a challenge to figure out how to move around but it seemed to come natural like in your dream. You could also tell, by almost silent experimenting, that you could speak normally minus the hiss every once in a while.

It wasn’t long before people in the room outside yours began to see your movement and observe. You looked around at each of them as some marveled at you and others were awkwardly silent. Then it hit you. You had been wondering why you were here and not in your bed. Well judging from some of the more serious looking individuals looked at you, you induced that they thought you were responsible for your disappearance. It was weird for you to think about but thinking from their point of view. A 25 foot anaconda in the bed of a missing teenage boy. There was only one scenario that they could come up with, realistically; the snake ate the boy. Then a woman wearing a white lab coat came forward and looked right into your eyes. You could see from her name tag (Eve) that she was the “Lead researcher”.

“Well big boy are you going to tell me how you digested that boy so quickly?” she said in a sweet yet contemplative tone as if she was thinking rather than asking a question. As the Animal control people left you were left in the room with the young lady, only a thin but strong sheet of glass separating you. She must have been one of those child prodigies to be a lead researcher because she didn’t look a day over 22. In fact she looked a lot like a blond version of Lana Lang from Smallville. There was a few differences but for the most part it was like watching TV, behind your little glass wall. But now you had to decide what to do. You could start talking and maybe get her to listen to you, but if it didn’t work you could wind up a lab rat of sorts. Or you could keep quiet and see where being an unusual “specimen” would get you.

So what do you do talk or stay quite?

You have the following choices:

1. Speak.

*Noteb*
2. Stay quiet.

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
