With a quietly muttered "whatever", you lay the clean padding out on your bed and drop your mushy butt atop it with an audible squish, deciding that a proper change can wait until after breakfast. Gently threading your tail through the small hole below the waistline provided for it, you struggle to fit the new garment over the existing one. Pulling the tapes towards the untethered front half of the clean diaper forces the soft, soaked interior of last night's padding up against you, and each shift and maneuver you make to try and fasten the tapes tight around your hips only pushes the warm, smelly stuff down there around more. By the time you finally get your new diaper secured tightly over yourself, all the movement and excitement down in your messy underside has made you blush quite fiercely.
Finally, you rise to your feet and give your outer diaper a firm pat. The extra layer hides most of the sagging and distention of your thoroughly-used overnight padding, making it look like you're just wearing a really big, clean diaper - although you still smell pretty bad, so you're not going to fool anyone who you happen to end up in an enclosed room with. More importantly, though, you get to enjoy both the fond sensation of wearing full padding, and the security of knowing you won't make a mess outside your undergarments if you happen to end up using them again. You figure you'll probably be inclined to change before that happens, though, since you know it won't stay as warm and comfy as it is forever... this is just a stop-gap solution until you can be bothered to take a shower, you remind yourself. There's plenty of time to waste until then, though. Right?
A brief wave of panic sweeps over you as you realise that you can't remember whether or not you're meant to be working today, and a glance at the clock next to your bed does nothing to assuage it - if it is a work day, you've only got five minutes until the bus arrives! You shuffle over to your wall calendar and anxiously check today's date...
