Before they can get a good look at you, you casually turn around and walk down the street. You walk slowly, as running might catch their attention. Despite passing off as calm and casual, you still get an uneasy feeling that they might catch on. After all, you are walking all alone with a backpack over your shoulder, and your high school is the only one in the area. Due to it being locked down, the police might get suspicious of you.
As you slowly march down the street, you occasionally gaze at the police car out of the corner of your eye. Before long, it starts advancing down the road, getting closer and closer. You simply walk along nonchalantly as if nothing is wrong.
Eventually, the police car passes you, and you ease down a bit. However, when it is about twenty feet in front of you, it stops. You pause nervously for a moment, and then continue. Soon, the cop in the passenger seat opens his door and steps out. He moves onto the sidewalk and gazes at the house in front of him.
You just walk by him, but your interest is caught by his behavior. You remark casually "Everything alright, officer?"
He turns to you and says "Yes, young lady. My partner and I are investigating a disappearance. We believe this house may have something to do with it."
"The house itself, or the people who live in it?" you ask.
"It could be both," he answers. But you notice he doesn't look you in the eye. He looks at you and then at something else every other second. Right then, you notice that the house has a sign in front of it that says "For Sale" followed by the contact information of a local realtor. You look back up at the cop and notice that he is nodding at something. You turn around and see his partner standing on the other side of the car, holding up a full-scale photograph in the air. Looking closer, you see that it is you.
You quickly realize that the policeman was lying about the house, but was telling the truth about the disappearance.
