"Do you love my fat?" Jim then asked, running one fat hand over the glacier of fat on his pec and then down his mound of belly blubber.
Tim hesitated, ever so slightly. "I dunno."
"Let me try another question. Can you picture me thin?"

"Can you picture loving me when I'm thin?"
"No. Fat is part of who I am, just as it's part of who you are."
"But I want to be thin!"
"And I want to have pale skin and red hair, like you, but brown skinned and black haired is what I am," Jim replied. "What all your failed diets have proved is that your fat is as much a part of you as your red hair is of you, or as my black hair is of me. If it was something you could change, you'd have changed it by now. So why don't you relax about it? Look, let's go get another ice cream." Jim started to shift to get up, an action that Tim found fascinating.
"See, if you got fat like me, you wouldn't have to watch me getting up, you could try it for yourself," Jim joked, hoisting his flabby 400 pounds into the air. "Or if ice cream doesn't suit...
