Jake woke up feeling a bit tired. It was Saturday so he could sleep in, but for whatever reason, he found himself unable to fall back asleep. After unsuccessfully trying for a bit to get back to sleep, he climbed out of bed and threw on a clean t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Jake then headed downstairs and poured himself a bowl of cereal.
As Jake was cleaning up after his meal, his mother walked into the room carrying a package. "Good morning Jake," she said. "I'm surprised to see you up this early."
"Morning Mom," Jake greeted her.
"This came for you in the mail," Sandra told her son, passing the package to him.
"What is it?" Jake asked, confused.
"No idea," Sandra replied. "But I need to go get ready for work so you can take a look."
"You're working on a Saturday?"
"Yeah, we have some important stuff we need to finish up at the office," Sandra explained before heading upstairs.
Following behind, Jake headed back to his own room to open the package. He didn't remember ordering anything and he couldn't think of anyone who would want to send him something so he didn't know what to expect. "Let's see here," he said to himself, setting the package down. Jake opened it up to find a box labeled 'The Swaptacular Remote' along with some sort of note. He put the box aside for the moment and read over the note.
Hello, Jake Edwards,
You have been selected as a beta tester for Blarg Industries' newest creation, The Swaptacular Remote. This remote, which we have included in this package, is capable of altering reality in several ways, allowing you to swap bodies, personalities, and more with other people. The remote is yours to play around with. All that we ask in return is for you to provide feedback on how we might improve it at the end of the trial period. Be sure to read through the instruction manual before you begin!

"Body swapping? Sounds like bull," Jake muttered as he set the letter down. He proceeded to open the box, removing an instruction manual and something that looked like some kind of TV remote. After taking a quick glance at the remote, he picked up the instruction manual and began flipping through it. After reading through the things this remote could supposedly do, Jake thought it was total crap. "Yeah right!" he said. "But, then again... I guess it can't hurt to try."
Jake had to admit that he was starting to feel excited by the prospect of this remote actually being real so he just had to test it out. Remote in hand, Jake headed back downstairs where he spotted his mom now dressed for work. She was wearing a dark blue blouse, a black skirt just shy of knee-length, and some 3-inch black pumps.
"I'm about to head out, hon," she said. "Need anything before I go?"
Jake took a second to think. He could try a quick swap with his mom before she left, just to see if it worked... Or he could ride in the car with her and try it out at her office or somewhere nearby.
