"I wish I knew how you did it," Simba said as he watch Nala helping to drag in the mornings kill.
"Knew how I did what," Nala asked, slightly puzzled.
"Always at the front, always in the lead," Simba smiled, "I'd have thought having a belly that size would have been quite an impediment."
"Well I won't say it's easy," Nala replied, "there are times it does become a bit on, as you call it, an impediment, but it's not actually that bad for the most part."
"And sometimes you seem to almost, I don't know, glow," Simba said. He really wished, sometimes, that he could experience it himself, to know what it was like to be pregnant, though he never gave voice to the thoughts, not wanting to be seen as odd.

"You coming in Simba," Nala called from the mouth of the cave, "everyone else is getting settled down."
"I'll be there in a minute," Simba replied, watching as the twilight faded in to the full deepness of night, he liked these times, they were always peaceful- He was mildly started by a bright streak overhead, oh he'd seen shooting stars before, but for some reason this one seemed unusually bright, and despite his sharing in the common belief that such events were lucky for those who saw them, he decided it was probably time to turn in for the night.
"That was a pretty impressive shooting star wasn't it," Nala said as he passed her, entering the cave and slowly picking his way to the back.
"You saw it too," Simba asked, slightly surprised, he wouldn't have thought it possible from where she was.
"Partly," Nala replied, "so did you make a wish for it."
"A what," Simba asked.
"A wish," Nala replied, "mother always told me that if you made a wish when a shooting star appeared that it would come true." She noticed the look of puzzlement on his face and smiled, "of course, it's just an old tale."
"Well I was always told they were good luck," Simba replied, "one of the great kings coming in to take a closer look or something, but, no I've never made a wish for one."
"Well at least you can sleep well knowing everything's going to be fine," Nala replied.
"Well, there is that," Simba replied, "goodnight my queen."
"G'night my handsome king," Nala replied.
