It was a nice Sunday morning you woke up to, but the day should end up far from peaceful.
You got up and accidentally slipped in your 14y/o tomboy sister's boxer.
Once you noticed you got rid of them, threw them infront of your sister's room and got dressed in your own stuff...
When you were done you left you room and then you went downstairs into the cellar to get a new pack of milk since you predicted that your siblings have already used up all the milk that was in the ground floor's fridge...
But today you tripped on the old stairway and hit the first wall you approached.
And, if that wasn't enough, the wall gave in! But it wasn't like the wall breaking, it just let you through!
Infront of you there was a fading note, partially covered in dust and spiderwebs. "I'm sorry" was the first sentence you could read, "If you read this I failed in keeping
this hidden and you safe.
I wanna inherit you my
Swap-Machine,
don't be an idiot,
love, MarshDad"
You and your dad were really close even though you fought once in a while.
Suddenly you remember the day your family was told that your father died in an accident, and how two tigers sent by the government came to your house in search for something the next day...
"Dad..." you mumbled.
"And mom thought you cheated on her" you chuckled sadly.
You took a step away from the wall and suddenly the space light up. There were multiple tools and plans of complicated machines.
"Dad was a real genius I guess.." you said under your breath...
Then there were two big pots with "swap" written on one and "machine" written on the other.
"subtile" you chuckle still sad.
A tear ran down your eye.
Then you find a second note infront of the machine. "Just stop crying already :)"
"idiot" you smile before reading further "This machine was built by me to have fun!
So please stop being sad and enjoy yourself"
An old polaroid photo of your dad and mom with you and your siblings was clipped to the note and there was something written on the back. Your dad loved polaroid cameras.
"PS: and don't worry,
my dad's notes didn't
make sense for me till I
turned 20 so you should
have more than enough
time to get your brain
to grow!"
"Why didn't you write a book if had so much to say..." a tear grew at the edge of your eye "alternatively you could have just stayed alive..."
You sit on a chair after taking what was lying on it in your hands.
You take your time to just sit there and remember the nice moment you shared with your dad.
10 minutes later you found out what you held in your hands, it was the manual for the machine you just inherited.
