Chapter #3

Your Breed...

    by: Shalion Author IconMail Icon
Some call you mad, but they just don't understand your genius! Meddling into the unseen forces behind the world might sound dangerous, but you really know what you're doing right? Well... there'll be time to sort things out later even if you do make a mess.

Now for the fun part. What sort of dragon are you?

The Regal Bronze: One of the largest casts of dragon, you tower over your opponents on the field of battle and have the force of well toned muscle behind each of your massive blows. You are called regal for your long legs and tall stature, you carry your head high and proud when you grace the land with your presence. Your kind are mortal enemies of Deathwings (but then again, who isn't?). Your brawn and their speed are evenly matched. While it isn't necessarily truth, the appearance of battling the Deathwings has given your kind a vaguely chivalrous reputation, a reputation that many individuals chose to uphold on their own. Your tail ends in a serrated arrow-head that is capable of slicing through fully grown trees and of course, your hide comes in only one color, a luminous bronze.

The Vishian Drake: Also known as the "wizard's drake" yours is one of the most poorly understood breeds of dragon. Smaller than average, your teeth and claws are well suited to your body and not over-sized like some of the more combat oriented breeds. Your scaly hide comes in watery colors of blue, green and even silver. Your wings are a marvel, appearing as crystalline webbing between the digits of your wings. Your fiery breath is mediocre at best, but your best trait and the one you are known for is the ability to disappear at will. In a process that you don't understand fully yourself, you can slip into a shadowy "in-between" to evade your pursuers, becoming invisible and untouchable. The world remains around you and you cannot pass through solid objects, but its inhabitants vanish and you are surrounded as if by mists. Reappearing becomes more difficult the longer you remain away so don't linger in your shadowy haven! Beware wizards because your kind are highly sought as the best of familiars. You don't want to lose your freedom do you?

The Crovey: The Crovey are a species of dragon with a reputation almost as dreadful as the feared Deathwing and whose reality is definitely more horrifying for the average mortal. The ancestral home of this breed of dragon is a vast underground cave complex, which exists under an equally vast mountain range commonly referred to as Umbra veil (Land of Shadow) by the dwarves and other beings. The Crovey, if you ever get a chance to see one, are slender of build, almost sickly and possess a short wingspan, which is more suited for short bursts of flight or assisted leaping than prolonged gliding. Boney spurs at the elbows aid in self-defense and another spur at the end of the tail curves upwards as the dragons are known to strike over their heads rather like a scorpion. They lack the ability to breathe fire so it would seem on the surface that they would be forgettable. However, living in the dark these hardy fiends gained a unique ability to sense the life force of others at a distance, and even to feed upon it directly. Similar to a pit viper’s sense of the body heat of its victims, the presence of life “glows” for the Crovey in the dark of their world. With time, their auras have grown incredibly malleable and they are able to extend it at will far from their bodies, thus are they able to feed on the life force of others, assuming the dragon can overpower the spirit, of their intended prey. If a Crovey cares to be subtle, their prey can begin to weaken and die without ever knowing the dragon was present at all. The Crovey do not eat, but do require a steady source of fresh water. They can feed on any form of life, even cave mold and fungus can be sustaining in times of famine, however, living creatures usually have the most abundant life force.

You have the following choices:

1. The Regal Bronze

2. The Vishian Drake

3. The Crovey
