Chapter #3

Your Breed...

    by: Shalion Author IconMail Icon
Clever dragons know that violence begets only more violence. Why needlessly test your scaly hide at every opportunity? Better by far to be friendly... and back-stab your enemies when they least suspect.

Now for the fun part... What sort of dragon are you?

The Sea Stormer: While your kind don't actually live in the sea, long have you been associated with the surf and the pounding waves. Weather just has a way of worsening when you are around and often, just the sight of you flying nearby is a reason to harbor the ships and close the storm blinds. You don't spend much time in the water, but usually nest in seaside cliffs and dine primarily on fish caught at sea. Of course, there is little wealth to be found at sea, unless you are looking for ships. Instead of breathing fire, you can fill a very large sac at the base of your throat with water and expel it at high pressure. Your kind have often been blessed by farmers looking for rain, but equally you have been blamed for creating cyclones and water-spouts... Typically your kind comes in a light blue and white matching sea foam. Pearly horns jut back from your head and fins at the end of your tail aid in both sky and water.

The Earth-Render: You are a unique class of dragon. Rather than living in high mountain lairs, your kind prefer to burrow into the earth. That doesn't mean you don't share the same lust for treasure and glory as your fellow dragons however! Normal size for a dragon, your wings are shaped to allow you to move through the earth with ease, but makes your slower and clumsier in the air compared to others. Your knowledge of the deep places gives you special advantages, however. Your hide is tougher than usual and more heat resistant. It is even said that your kind can cause pits to suddenly open in the earth, change the foundations of the rock even alter the course of underground water. You hide has a pebbly texture and comes in various shades of brown from clay to light green. Your head is smooth and no spur or weapon lays at the end of your tail, but your large fore claws are good for more than just shoveling earth.

The Faerie Dragon: Despite being the smallest breed of dragon, there are none who take your kind lightly. About the size of a large horse, your lithe, colorful body is supported by two pairs of elegant and overlapping wings resembling that of a butterfly. Foes shouldn't be fooled by your innocent appearance, however, as with every flap of your wings, mind-altering dust escapes and quickly befuddles even the stoutest dragon. If that weren't enough, while all dragons possess deep and powerful magic, your magic crops up much more often and occasionally, you can even will specific effects into being, particularly if you are in danger. It is also a known fact that your magic is tends to be most in tune with plants, simple beasts and the tiny folk whose forest home you share.

You have the following choices:

1. The Sea Stormer

2. The Earth-Render

3. The Faerie Dragon
