The principle comes out of his office to notice that Ted is chasing Jake. He goes in front of them, “What is going on here?” he says. Ted points at Jake, “This thief just stole my iPod!” Jake snares at him, “No I didn’t! You just wanted to beat me up!”
The funny thing is, Jake has an iPod in the left pocket of his backpack. It’s Jake’s iPod, but he never really brings it to school. Ted however, always brings his iPod to school. This is something the principle has known ever since Jake and Ted attended this school.
“Give me back my iPod!”
“This is my iPod!”
“Give it back to me you liar!”
“I’m not lying! This really is my iPod!”
Basically, that argument went on for two minutes, then when the principle was about to stop it, Mike comes in and stops the argument. “Ted… this is Jake’s iPod. Now shut up and leave him alone.” Ted isn’t giving up, “But that IS my iPod! I was looking all over for it! And now I know that he stole it from me! Give me my iPod you thief!”
Mike sighs, and he says smoothly, “Geez, you just won’t give it up will you? C’mon Jake, we ought to get to class.” Jake and mike leave the scene, while ted continues to complain about his false witness of the iPod.
Mike looks at Jake… with a surprised look. “Wow Jake!” he says, “no bruises this time? This is a first! Usually when I see you with Ted, there’s not a single spot on you that isn’t bruised!”
Jake laughs, “Well, let’s just say… I dodged for once. More like three times! It took me until now to realize that I shouldn’t let them beat me up anymore. You know, I should’ve thrown a few punches myself! I now feel like I’m no longer a weakling! From now on, it’s no more Mr. Wimpy guy!”
Mike smiles, “Well I’m glad you’re improving Jake. You know how I’m always telling you to stand up for yourself, and today’s the day you actually did. I’m proud of you.”
When school was over, Jake and Mike were both walking out of there… until Jasmine caught Mike’s eye…
But what seems so interesting about Jasmine that made Mike notice her?
