It was night as usual and you were patrolling the city, jumping from building to building. So, far there seemed to be no crime in the city, save for the occasional muggings that you prevented. Not that you really complained, since it was not that long ago that you had to send the Jester to the asylum for the umpteenth time, which more or less involved chasing her around Footropolis, until finally corning her in a casino and tackling her onto the roulette table, knocking her out. Needless to say, a slow day was a welcomed thing after that adventure. "Slow night tonight" You mumble to yourself. As you were thinking of calling it a night and returning home, you hear an explosion and a cackle. You then turn to see the Footropolis Industries, the place that your dad owns, Using binoculars, you see a group of armed thugs and a brunette woman wearing a red and black dress. You sigh, and mumble "Looks like I spoke too soon." and with that, you head on to the building.
In a mere few minutes, you get to the building, which is now surround by the FPD. You see an ally of yours, Commissioner Pied, who was at first opposed to Vigilantes like you but finally came around and accepted your role in the city and became one of your strongest allies in the city. Seconds later, you land next to him. The Commissioner noticed you and said, "Hawkboy! Am I glad to see you." You look at him and reply, "Whats the problem here commissioner?" The commissioner looks at the building and says, "Well....as I bet you already know, Pyra, for whatever reason attacked Footropolis Industries and seems to be holding the people in there, mostly security, janitors and some workaholics in the office. Says that if we try to rescue the hostages, she'll 'Turn the head on them'" "Typical" you murmur to Pied. "Yeah, she also said that she'll kill them if she 'see's anything that looks like a hawk'' Pied replied. You look at Pied, not changing the in the expression on your face and say "Once again typical." Though you would hate to admit it, some help would really be nice. "Well, looks like the great Hawkboy seems to be in dire need of help" an arrogant voice says, as you and Commissioner Pied easily identify the voice as one of the other heroes.....more like heroines of the city, and one of your friendly rivals, Ninja Girl. The only things that you knew about her was that she was the same age as you, she was Japanese-American and that she knew a lot of ancient and powerful Ninjutsu arts that she claims were taught to her by her mother. The two of you somewhat competed over the main hero of the city, but it was a friendly rivalry and, as much as you hated to admit it, you had somewhat of a crush on her. You also teamed up with her to fight the cities numerous supervillians, including Jester, Pyra and Firewire in situations which were simular to his one.
"What do you want Ninja Girl?" you ask, looking around, knowing full well she was in the area. "Right here Hawky." She said, all of the sudden appearing on the police car that was in front them. She was wearing her usual costume. Her black hair in a ponytail, a purple ninja mask covering her mouth and nose, along with a purple top gi covered her upper body and left her arms bare, she also wore black fingerless hand gloves and purple short shorts. You notice something odd though. She was barefoot! You start to blush for a moment. Her feet were the prettiest,sexiest and cutest feet you had ever seen. Thankfully, Ninja Girl did not know about your fetish....if she did, you'll never hear the end of it. You were however curious as to why she was barefoot, since she usually wore boot like sandals that were knee length. However, they seemed to be missing now. You decide to question her about this.
"What happened to your shoes?" You question. You could have sworn she blushed for a second, before responding, "Two days ago those Troop brats stole them as a practical joke, I managed to beat them, but I was unable to locate my boots" You smirk at her plight, though you in secret hope she never finds them. "Or maybe you just decided to show your pedicure" You say, still smirking. Ninja Girl glared at you, and was about to reply to your comment before Pied interrupted "Look, you two can banter another time, right now we have a hostage crisis on your hands, it would be nice to see you two working together on this." You and Ninja Girl look at each other and agree with Pied, there would be more time to playfully argue after they dealt with Pyra.
"Well, commissioner, I did some scouting, Pyra and a top offical are on the top level. Her goons and the hostages are on the level below her. There are only about five goons....but with a psycho like Pyra, that's all you need." Ninja Girl said. Pied took a moment to think this over and after a few more minutes and said "Alright, the quickest and fastest way to rescue the hostages and take down Pyra is to send you two in." The two of you looked at each other and then at the same time, said, "Got it commish" and with that, Ninja Girl used her ninja powers to teleport while you use a grapple hook and start to work your way up to the room.
In almost no time, you make it, with Ninja Girl, tapping her foot, in a mocking way. "Took you long enough" She said, smirking behind her mask. "Well, not everyone one of us has those cheap ninja powers, some of us have to actually rely on skill" your retort. The two of you then hear someone coming and you take cover on the corner, where as Ninja Girl seemed to just disappear. You see a goon go by and stop by a door, and gave a series of knocks and saw the door open up and the goon enters, with a smirk, you see another goon walking up to the door..
