As naruto discretely watches Kiba getting praised for succeeding by his mother and sister, Naruto decides that Hana was the perfect fit. She had a loving family and was loved by everyone since she was the go to vet in the village. With his target in mind, Naruto begins the swap focusing on her hair, might as well work from the top down. Preforming the swap, Naruto was expecting some sign that the jutsu worked, he didn't feel anything change about himself. Not bothering to look back at Hana, who now was sporting spikey golden blonde hair, Naruto walks off, his long brown hair in a low pony tail as it swayed back and forth. Naruto didn't make it far before Mizuki intercepted him.
(canon story line)
After beating the ever loving crap out of mizuki and saving Iruka, Naruto goes home and makes another shadow clone. In a poof of smoke Naruto walks around his clone observing his long brown hair that he had somehow missed after he swapped initially. Dispelling the clone, Naruto goes to bed happy that he graduated.
