Jessica snapped her fingers and I came rushing back to reality. The sun was bright, too bright as I put my hand up to block the sun. The wind gusts and I feel a draft by my legs and close them out of instinct.
"Have fun today sweetie!" I hear Amanda say as Jessica drives away. I then notice I'm in the carpool lane at my old middle school. Shocked I see I'm carrying my backpack and wearing a sunny yellow dress that goes to my knees, with thick shoulder straps that go down to my collarbone.
"Oh geez!" I say, dropping my bag and covering myself out of shock.
"Hey Rachel!" I hear someone say. I turn and see a girl my mind recognizes as someone named Tammi. I panic and think through my options and hurry up to her as we go inside the school building.
