Then again, I woke up in the middle of the night and after a drinking session, it doesn't seem fair that I pull pranks on my kids at this hour. Also, they might hurt me if I'm not able to wake them up properly, they could throw me away or crush me, only thinking about it makes me shiver.
I think I'll just explore the house, after all, you don't always have the chance to see the house like this. But before I do it, I should move my clothes away from the hall. Pushing the jeans along with my shirt made me realize how different I was, something I could easily pick up, now it felt like if I was moving a boulder.
The pile of clothing is against the wall and the remote is hiding my underwear, guess it's time for this small woman to have a big tour. I walk in the hall and feel colder than usual, well, it's not like I usually walk around naked but even moving slowly, I can perceive the cold breeze.
My first stop is the bathroom, seriously, I can't even describe how it looked to me, the regular toilet and bathtub were like if I was visiting an unknown planet. I decided to keep moving since I didn't want to stumble one of my kids doing their business.
I take a break from the walking and look at the pictures wall, many achievements of mine along the kids. God, how I hate that portrait, Harry and me, posing as if we were the best couple in the world. I was wearing my favorite dress and the collar my mother gave me before our wedding. Back then, I thought nothing could go wrong in our relationship, but, it did. I wonder why I never took it off from the wall, I had more pleasant memories while I was raising Matt and Tina on my own. Focus, Karen, you didn't shrink yourself to think about him. I stare at that image for one last time and move on.
I shoud have thought this through, I'm literally climbing down the stairs to continue my exploration, this is getting exhausting. After recovering my breath, I walk into the kitchen and notice crumbs under the table, I roll my eyes, I'm sure Matt made sandwiches and didn't put the ingedients back to the fridge. I climb up to the table and for my surprise, I was right. The bread package was full open, guess I could try to close it. But not before I take out a piece for me, this has been a long walk.
After my night snack, I think about my next move and then.....
