Helena decided to have some quiet time and experience what it would be like to be headless. She first put the PPD on her neck and activated it. Then she lifted her head off her body and placed it by the old hatbox. It was a surreal experience seeing her body in 3rd person, but she soon would be depriving herself of that.
She navigated her body to grab the sensory deprivation hood and her cellphone. She then placed the cellphone in the hatbox so that if anything happened, she would be able to use her voice to call for help. Then she pulled the hood over her head and tied it tightly on the back. She then carefully placed her head in the hatbox, closed the clasp, and slid it under her bed.
Now cut off from her other senses, she was free to experience things with only her sense of touch to guide her. She thought about all the possibilities of the experience, from being able to block out the entire outside world for peace and quiet, to having such a heightened sense of touch that the feelings of every little thing could lead to enhanced reactions.
