This choice: We Check In On Peachs Brain Drain/Something Else • Go Back...
Chapter #8
Smart or Stupid
by: Unknown
"Hm...?" The princess moaned, eyes fluttering open. "Wha...?" She tried to say more, but everything was fuzzy and dizzy and she couldn't think...
"Greetings, Princess!" A gruff voice grated on her ears.
"Bowser...?" She had to focus, but eventually saw her captor's body appear in the foggy room.
"How's the head?" The brute guffawed. "I'd say you're not feeling too bright anymore, am I right?"
"What...?" She shook her head, the fog clearing. "I'm plenty smart..."
"Oh really?" He folded his arms and stepped back. "Then why don't we test that brain of yours out?"
It was then that she noticed that she couldn't move. Her head and arms were locked into place with metal braces, and something was on top of her head. "Let me go you monster!!"
"Princess!" Bowser feigned disgust, nodding his head. "I'm hurt that you'd be rude to yer host!"
"You kidnapped me!" She kept struggling until the braces tightened. "Ack!"
"No, princess." Bowser chuckled, and the lights went out. "I mean host of the Mushroom Kingdom's hit new game show!" A spotlight shone onto him. "Smart! Or! Stupid!"
The lights came on full power this time to reveal a colorful and intricate set. The theme song started to play. She couldn't turn her head, but saw an audience of goombas and koopas and thwomps and all the others sitting behind cameras that filmed her and Bowser.
"What is the meaning of this?!" She tried to shift or move even a bit, but couldn't manage.
"The rules are so simple, even a gal like you could understand 'em." Bowser said. "If you answer a question wrong, you get stupider!"A cartoonish sounding buzzer played. "If you answer it right, then you get a point."
"And how do you plan to do that?" Peach taunted. "Another potion?"
"Nope!" The audience laughed. "If you haven't figured it out, then you should know that the machine on your head is a state of the art brain drainer!"
She gulped. Something told her this wasn't a bluff. "What happens if I win?"
A ding sound effect rung. "If you get 'em all right, then we let you go!" Then the music stopped. "But," He brought up a single finger. "If you get even one wrong, you have to do what I say!"
She sighed. "I don't have a choice, do I?"
"Nope!" He cried, and cleared his throat. "First Question!"
