"Hey, Daisy, are we there yet?" Peach yawned, her fuzzy head slowly lulling her to sleep.
"Almost, Peach, just a couple blocks." Daisy answered patiently. It was the third time Peach had asked that exact question, but rudeness wouldn't help anyone, and she didn't mind playing nanny too much. "Want me to carry you?" She joked.
Peach stopped and held her arms out expectantly. Laughing, Daisy lifted Peach--with some serious difficulty--and carried her the last hundred feet to the theater.
Waddling up the the theater, Daisy gently set the heavier Peach down onto a bench. The theater was small, and kinda rundown. No broken windows or mold, but still pretty... crummy. It had an old, cozy feel to it, though, and even if it didn't have neon lights or a fresh paint job, the theater's inviting attitude was... relaxing, to say the least.
"Two for... Huh?" Daisy tried to ask, but found that the ticket booth was empty. "Hello?" She asked, knock, knock, knocking. It says it's open... Daisy thought, walking past the ticket counter and to the front door. Lights on...
"Hey, Daisy, where are we...?" Peach murmured, walking up to her friend and yawning.
"Oh, I carried you to the theater." Daisy explained, and opened the door for her sleepy friend.
"Ah, thanks." Peach yawned, flashing a dopey, sleepy smile to her friend.
"Well, this place looks pretty cool." Daisy noted as she entered the theater's surprisingly tall and roomy main lobby.
"--s, yes, I understand." A Toad's voice echoed from a theater door as it gently swung open. "Oh!"
"Hey." Daisy waved politely. "Are you guys open?"
"Yes, sorry about that!" The Toad cried, fast walking over to the two and handing them a ticket. "Here."
Daisy raised an eyebrow. "Oh, thanks?"
"Mmm?" Peach murmured, wiping the sleep from her eyes and giggling. "Thanks!"
"Sorry, we're a little understaffed--I'm, I'm actually th-the only one here." The Toad choked out, wiping some sweat from its brow. "The tickets are for theater three, snacks are behind me, and, today, everything's free!" He tiredly did a little hand wave and panted lightly.
"Oh, don't worry, man, we won't tell your boss." Daisy offered, gently tapping the Toad's shoulder.
"Oh..." The Toad said, sighing and relaxing a little. Its shoulders relaxed and a little smile graced its face. "Th-thanks...!"
"Keep up the good work!" Daisy cried as she began leading Peach by the hand and walking to their theater.
"Oooh, let's get some snacks!" Peach enthused as the toad waved goodbye.
