There was a loud thud outside Adam's room and so he opened his door slightly to see what was going on.
A girl about his age was struggling to lift a large pink suitcase up the stairs. The girl had long blonde hair falling past her shoulders and was wearing a pink cap sleeved t-shirt and a pair of denim short shorts. On her feet were a pair of pink sandals.
"Hey," Adam began as he stepped out of his room. "Let me help you with that." He offered. The girl, looking exhausted from the effort of making it this far, gladly accepted his help and Adam took over while the girl searched for a room. Perhaps it was because she was tired from carrying the case or maybe she didn't want Adam to carry it too far but she ended up choosing the room opposite Adam, probably for the same reasons that he did, convenience. She opened the door and Adam followed through, plopping the case down by the door.
Looking around the room, Adam groaned. Had he spent a bit more time exploring this room would have been perfect for him. Instead of being stuck with the pink and girly bedroom he could have had a room that looked like it belonged to a guy. The walls were painted blue and there were posters of atheltes hanging up, even a couple of trophies left lying around. It looked like a typicall jock's room.
"Ew," the girl exclaimed looking around the room with disgust. "Of all the rooms that I could have picked I had to pick some sweaty dudes room." Again, Adam mentally kicked himself. This girl would have been perfect for the room that he was now occupying but for some reason, Adam couldn't bring himself to offer a swap.
"If you had gotten here earlier, you could have had my room," Adam commented. The girl tilted her head in confusion and looked at him. "My room is just across the hall but it's all pink and girly. You woud love it." He explained. "I'm Adam by the way." He reached out a hand and she shook it.
"Emily," the blonde girl replied. "It's ok I guess," She gestured to the room. "I can always, like, redecorate it." Adam nodded. That's exactly what he was planning on doing when he got a chance. "Thanks for helping with the suitcase and stuff."
Adam smiled, shaking his head.
"Oh don't worry about it. It was nothing. Like I said, I'm just across the hall so if you need anything else. Don't be afraid to ask."
