You were happy to find that the children were pretty well behaved. Melissa mostly kept to her room, occasionally coming downstairs for something but just as quickly leaving. Cody on the other hand had gotten over his shyness for the most part and you had spent the evening playing video games. After dinner, which Melissa apparently didn't feel like, he obediently went to bed, leaving you alone to watch TV for the rest of the night.
It was around 8:30 when you heard footsteps on the stairs. You turned around, wondering if Cody couldn't sleep or something, but instead found his sister standing at the foot of the stairs. Melissa was wearing long black sweat pants and a purple shirt with a logo from My Little Pony; on her wrist was an antiquated gold bracelet with red gems all over it.
"Where'd you get that?" You ask pointing to the bracelet, you're worried she might have taken it from her mother's jewelry box.
"Its mine, I found it," She replies walking over to the couch.
"Really, where?" You question, trying to sound interested as opposed to suspicious, you still didn't believe her.
"In the forest out behind the house," She answered, seizing the TV remote, "Its magic, wanna see?" She tacks on as she flips the TV to some girly show.
"Hey, give that back," You say, grabbing for the remote, you no longer cared about her bracelet.
Melissa held the remote as high as she could, but you easily snatched it away. Sitting down you flipped back to Deadliest Warrior and turned to see Melissa reaching towards you. Slightly annoyed you move the remote to the opposite side of the couch, but Melissa keeps her hand extended. As you are about to ask her to stop, you notice the gems on her bracelet glowing brightly.
A sudden wave of vertigo hits you like a brick. You keel over clutching your head as the strange sensation of falling overtakes you. Just as you feel ready to pass out, it fades. You look over to ask Melissa what happened, only to see her gigantic fingers wrapping around your body. It takes but a second to realize that you're only a foot tall, unfortunately within this second you're lifted up to Melissa's face, a fact you realize when her hot, chocolatey breath washes over you.
The eight-year old's voice nearly deafens you as she speaks excitedly, "Wow, I've never tried that on a person before!"
"What did you do to me?" You inquire in an aggressive tone, swinging your arms about.
"I shrank you with my magic bracelet because you wouldn't give me the remote!" Melissa answers, her tone becoming angry towards the end, "Speaking of which, that was mean!"
"I'm sorry Melissa, that was wrong. Now could you please grow me back.
"No!" Melissa yells getting her spit all over your face, "You're going to be my toy now," Melissa explains with a dark grin.
Melissa's hand suddenly begins to move. What is she doing?
