It was late afternoon on Halloween, a night when kids dressed up in costumes and went out to get candy. You on the other hand, had choosen to forgo the normal trick-or-treating routine in favor of watching horror movies. You were also required to give out candy, in wake of your parents who had already left early with your younger brother to begin their door to door sweep of the town.
Both your sisters were still home. Abby was changing into her costume to go trick-or-treating with her friends. Clara was also putting on her costume, but was going to a party. Soon you'd have the run of the house to yourself, except for the occassional interruption.
DING! The noise echoes through your house.
"Speaking of which," You mutter to yourself as you pull yourself off the sofa, pausing your movie as you do so.
Pulling open the door you are greeted by three children, a ghost, Batman, and a cowgirl. After a jubilant cry of "Trick or treat" from all of them, you bring out the bowl of candy and hold it out to them.
"Take a handful," You tell them lazily.
The children each comply, hurried grabbing their candy and running off to the next house. You close your front door and set the candy bowl down, plucking up a Fun Size Three Musketeers before returning to your movie. You gobble down the candy bar without giving it much though admist the screams and gore on the TV.
