Well it'd been years since you'd even seen Veronica and now was as good any to make up for lost time. The sight of her is breathtaking. As a kid she'd always been a gangly; all awkward limbs and scraped knees. Now she's grown into her own and was one of the tallest, most lithe, most beautiful women you'd ever seen. Smooth skin the color of burnt cinnamon glistens with sweat in mid day heat and wiry muscles flex as she stretched left and right. High cheekbones and full lips gave her face a proud grace although her aquiline nose would be considered strong for Hollywood beauty. She kept her curly red-brown hair back in frizzy ponytail that reached midway down her back and swayed as she moved.
And her feet! Oh her feet! They had to be at least a size ten although they did not appear disproportionate to the rest of her. Slender rather than wide, but quite quite long, you imagine you could cover your entire face with those soles. You also notice her toes were short but plump, like ten dark delicious looking grapes. You wonder how many you could fit in your mouth at once.
As you get closer you call out to her and wave.
"Hey! How're you doing?" She starts and glances over at you, stopping her stretching. Her expression is guarded as she stares at you.
"Do I...know you?" she asks warily. She watches you intently as the muscles in her arms and legs go taught ever so slightly. It's obvious she's more than willing to take anyone on who tries to start trouble with her. You decide to stop.
You rub the back of your head and smile nervously. "Yeah, we used to live next to each other when we were kids. Before your family moved a few years back? I...I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember me."
Veronica's brow scrunches and she leans forwards slightly to look at your through narrow eyes as if trying to picture something. But after a few seconds her face lights up and she snaps her fingers.
"Oh yeah! You were the quiet boy from across the street!" she says in realization. She relaxes noticeably and so do you. She puts a hand on her hip and smiles at you. "Man, it *has* been a long time! How you doing?"
"Doing well," you answer. "Currently on break right now and decided to visit the beach. How about you? What've you been up to?"
"Oh not much!" she said jovially. "Joined the girl's soccer team in middle school and have been in love with the game ever since. Now I'm studying to get my degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on human biomechanics."
"Huh? So, you're not going to go pro?" you ask.
"Nah. I'm a decent player but I'm not really pro material. And 'sides you need to plan what you'll be doing after you're done playing. Gotta think long term y'know?"
"I see!" you say before changing the subject. "Sooo, you here for a swim or a run?"
