Frankie took the boy's hand in his sweaty one and give it a shake, "Frankie." He said slightly bewildered that a extremely good looking teen would come up and talk to him.
Lewis looked exactly like one of the popular kids at his old school. Thin, with small wiry muscles, an even tan and effortlessly cool. His short dark hair was spiked, making it look like he'd just rolled out of bed. On his shirt was the logo of a band Frankie had never heard of (but was probably super cool) and his plaid shirt was unbuttoned and rolled up to his elbows. He wore glasses, black and the only thing chunky about him.Even his jeans were cool- baggy and ripped (something that the never made in Frankie's size).
Frankie couldn't help but stare at him.. Well that and wonder if Lewis might need a stronger prescription.
"Nice to meet you." Still grinning, Lewis slid into the seat next to yours.
"Ah, nice to meet you too." Suddenly, suspicious he look around the room, watching for anyone laughing. No way someone this cool, would sit next to him if it wasn't for some overly elaborate joke. However, besides the stares Frankie usually garnered, no one was giggling in his direction. In fact, most of the students looked more anxious about their rapidly approaching first day of high school.
"Jesus christ."
Frankie's head whips back around when he heard Lewis begin to speak again. The other boy however was still smiling. Frankie did note that he looked a little worried too.
"I feel like I'm about to have a heart attack." He continued, "I mean- lets stop dickin' around and start this already."
Despite the fact that Frankie wanted nothing more than to prolong the wait for the eminent school year, he nodded. "Yeah, if we don't start soon, I'm gonna die of anticipation.
In spite of their apparent differences, Frankie found Lewis extremely easy to talk with and soon struck up a fast friendship with the boy. Apparently, his parents ran the Korean BBQ and he'd seen Frankie and his family come in a few times. Frankie also learned that Lewis was an honor student (mostly due to his parents breathing down his neck than any personal commitment) and that they were both currently obsessed with the same MMORPG.
With less than five minutes on the clock to homeroom starting, Lewis asked to see Frankie's class schedule. After studying it for a few minutes, his face broke out into a big smile, "Awesome! We have social studies and gym together."
Involuntarily, Frankie groaned at the mention of gym- though things might be better if he had a friend in class. When Lewis passed the papers back, Frankie also noticed they had the same lunch period. Awesome, so he had his favorite and least favorite periods with his new friend.
"You should sit with me." Lewis added, Frankie nodded but the conversation was ended by the bell, signaling that homeroom had begun.
When the teacher turned her back on the class to write something on the board, Lewis shot the obese teen a thumbs up.
Frankie grinned back, finally happy.
Since the classes he had with Lewis were in the afternoon, that meant that Frankie would have to slug through most of the day alone. No one bothered him, but he could hear people giggling when he walked by and had even caught a few people pointing at his enormous rear or jiggling belly. By the time his first class with Lewis, Frankie was practically jogging to it.
