Sakura went backstage as was requested by Sanja, but the eccentric magician was no where to be seen for once. Instead, one of the managers greeted Sakura.
"Ah, you must be Sanja's new assistant he was talking about. He seems to go through so many it seems..."
'I"ll bet.' she said to herself while rolling her eyes.
"Anyway." the man continued, pulling out a particularly small one piece red suit, "Here is your costume to wear while on stage. Also I'll ask that you please give me any weapons or ninja equipment so we don't cause a full blown panic up there. Sanja is quite nervous considering this is his first time performing in Konoha."
He handed the suit to Sakura, it looked like it was meant for a child but it was rather stretchy and soft. Sakura in turn took off her ninja belt and kunai to give to the manager, who fondled with them inexpertly. He led her to a changing booth and she donned the glittery one piece. She also let her hair down as well. She looked pretty good considering she was in a small gaudy outfit. After exiting the booth Sakura handed the manager her old clothing for safe keeping and he lead her backstage again. Sanja was about to go on stage. The announcer blared his introduction to the crowd.
"Now ladies and gentlemen of Konoha...I bring to you the master of disguise! The sorcerer of the south! The incredible illusionist! Here he is! Sanja the Great!"
There was an explosion in the middle of the stage of green smoke. When it cleared, there stood Sanja in a black suit with a top hat. He bowed to the cheering audience, stopping to lift open his arm cuffs which released a flock of pigeons that flew around the audience. He took his hat off, and the birds dived into it one by one, until they had all vanished and he returned the black hat to his head. The audience was thundering with approval.
"Thank you my dear Konoha! It is a pleasure to be here at last!" spoke the magician, "I will grant you a show beyond your wildest imagination! But let me not take all the credit...Let me introduce you to my lovely assistant, a ninja of Konoha. The beautiful maiden...Sakura Haruno!"
Sakura blushed at his flattery, the manager gave her a slight push onto the stage.
"Break a leg!" smiled the manager.
Nearly everyone from the village was in attendance, from Hyūgas to the Naras. She was able to notice a mass of bright yellow hair in the audience cheering madly. Looks like Naruto got his wish to watch the show. Sasuke was sitting next to him with his arms crossed. He had a look on his face that said "How the hell did I get talked into this one?" Kakashi was no where to be seen, probably outside guarding the entrance. Sakura was blushing madly as she stepped onto stage with her arms behind her back. She had never been in front of a crowd of people this huge.
"Now my dear audience..." said Sanja, "Open your minds....and let the magic begin!"
The show was full of what a naive person would call mystical tricks. Sawing people in half, making people disappear, and even preforming levitation were all parts of the show. Sakura's job through this was to help volunteers from the audience up the stage and move props from place to place. Thankfully Sanja had her do nothing embarrassing yet. At least not until after intermission...
"Now ladies and gentlemen! I will now begin my greatest act! I shall pull a full grown rabbit from my hat! And my wonderful assistant, Sakura, will provide us with the rabbit!"
