Alison and Nikki ran most of the way, as Alison headed towards where the others had agreed to meet up after their respective searches. The blonde and her new companion turned a corner, and Alison was relieved to see the others waiting for her.
"What took you so long?" Kate immediately snapped. "We've been waiting for ages!"
"We thought something might have happened to you," Erica said.
"Nah, I'm good," Alison smiled. "Oh...this is Nikki."
The other looked over the new arrival somewhat suspiciously; they had all become a little paranoid over the last few weeks.
"Hi," Nikki said, meekly.
"Two infected girls were chasing Nikki down," Alison explained. "Luckily, we managed to get away."
"Two infected girls? Chasing you down?" Dee said.
"Yeah, they've gone crazy!" Nikki said.
"Interesting..." Dee said thoughtfully.
"Is it okay if she comes with us?" Alison asked.
"Of course," Erica said. "We said we'd search for anyone who hadn't been infected yet, and the rest of us haven't found anything. Welcome aboard Nikki."
Nikki grinned. "Thanks guys, I really appreciate it."
"We'd better get going," Josh said.
"Is your van still parked outside?" Kyle asked.
"Yeah," Josh said. "Might be a tight squeeze, but we should all be able to fit inside."
"We'd better be careful," Nikki cautioned. "Those two girls are still around, and last time we saw them they looked pretty pissed off."
"Right," Erica said. "Let's go guys."
The group hurried outside. Alison was about to hurry after them, when Nikki pulled her arm. Alison was a little startled, and gave her new friend a bemused look. "Huh? What?"
"Could you do me a favour and maybe not mention the whole...being forced to drink breast milk part of our story?" Nikki asked. "I don't really want those guys thinking I'm some kind of weirdo."
"No problem," Alison smiled. "I'm great at keeping secrets."
"Cool, thanks," Nikki smiled. "We'd better get going."
