This choice: Dee runs into Josh, who has followed her down... • Go Back...Chapter #4Meeting up with Josh by: expandor   Suddenly, Dee was startled by a loud clattering noise from behind her. She gasped and jumped back, turning around quickly to see what had caused the noise - to her surprise, and relief, it was only Josh, who had obviously tripped over a mop and bucket by the door and was looking at her sheepishly.
"Erm...hey Dee," Josh said, looking a little embarrassed as he pushed the mop and bucket out of his way.
Dee's heat was still racing, but she was glad it only Josh. "Josh, what are you doing down here?"
"Well..." Josh said, a little awkwardly. "I finished looking around the pool, and I figured you might need some help down here. I mean, it's not really safe for you to be walking around here by yourself, is it?"
Dee frowned. "I can take of myself, Josh."
"Oh, no, I didn't mean...I just thought you might want some company, that's all," Josh said, apologetically.
Dee smiled. "It's okay, I appreciate the thought."
Dee did appreciate the thought. Josh had been very friendly towards her ever since she joined the group, not that the others hadn't been, but Josh always seemed to make a special effort. There had, however, been an unfortunate incident last week when Dee had forgotten to lock the bathroom door, and Josh had walked in on her in her underwear. Dee had let out an alarmed scream, and Josh had quickly retreated, but Dee was still feeling very embarrassed about the whole incident. Though Josh had been very apologetic, Dee had been avoiding him ever since.
Josh smiled back. "So, did you find anything down here?"
"Nothing," Dee replied, looking around the empty room once again. "It's weird to think I used to have classes here."
"Yeah, it was strange seeing the pool without anyone swimming in it," Josh said. "Guess the water's contaminated now, huh?"
Dee nodded. "I guess we should go. The others will be waiting."
Dee and Josh headed back out of the lab and into the corridor, making their way back up to the dorm where they would meet with the others.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
