West Lowery Central High: A public high school, attended by Elliot and most of his friends.
King Applied Research Center: An eccentric research laboratory in West Lowery. It's essentially of Mad-Science meets slick corporate image and organization. Sort of like Frankenstein with a defense contract. KARC dabbles in all sorts of fringe science, including teleportation, time travel, transformation and body-switching, all with a smile and promises of a brighter tomorrow. They aren't outright evil or power hungry, exactly, but they are willing to do pretty much anything they see as necessary in the name of Science! For the greater good, of course.
King University: A prototype university affiliated with King Applied Research Center. The courses tend to make extensive use of the exotic technology of their affiliate. Rather than try to integrate students into the community organically—an inefficient process at best—administrators have designed a 'perfect' campus with a 'perfect' distribution of roles and students. Applicants are thus 'Placed' into one of the pre-designed profiles, transformed as necessary to meet the creator's vision for that profile. Placement is determined by means of a multiple-choice aptitude test, and once a student is placed, discussion of any previous life is strictly forbidden. Students who fail in their studies may be placed into "remediation," during which they will swap profiles with a non-student affiliated with the college, where they will have to complete some objective to prove they are ready to re-enter the university environment.
Spells R Us: Spells R Us is a magic shoppe run by an elderly wizard. Most of the items in his shop are otherwise mundane objects, such as books, gum, clothing or what have you, that carry with them magical rules or properties. Usually, these ultimately result in transforming a guy into a girl in one way or another.
