Rouge and Amy were stupefied when the ebony hedgehog entered. The Ring of Lord Ipnosi immediately caught Shadow's eye, but he calmed himself and let words flow from his tongue like silk. "Good evening Rouge. Nice suit Amy." Amy immediately became enraged.
"You will show Rouge the proper respect you slime!"
"Calm down Amy. Why don't you fetch some tea for the two of us won't you?" Rouge said with a glisten in her eye. She knew that she could weaken Shadow with tea emotionally because he and Maria always had it on Space Colony Ark. But Shadow was prepared. He didn't submit.
"Of course mistress", and with that ebony and ivory were alone. Shadow decided to bring up the ring. Now was as good a time as any. "I love the new ring your wearing Rouge. Lovely, almost as lovely as you." speaking with his piercing ruby eyes.
Rouge was hoping he wouldn't see, but a gold ring on ruby gloves DID stand out a bit. Now she had to think. "Well, I could just hypnotize him, but he seems like he's hiding something. It might be wise to continue this little charade and find out what he knows, and with my body he could be putty in my hands and help me. I could always lie about the ring. He might see me as a threat and that could be dangerous."
