It opens its mouth, clumsily. "Ayre you a human, too?"
Realization dawned on Eric. He was conjoined to another human-turned-dragon! He moved to speak, but his mouth wouldn't cooperate. "Yee-yeaaah, Aye'yam."
"Aooh, good, Aye ways afrayd that Aye would be stuck wifth some dumm drag'n."
What good luck, another human! Now they could work together to escape. "Let's mayke for that cave," Eric said, forcing the words to stumble out of his mouth in that ridiculously cute voice.
The other dragon-head nodded. It took a few minutes for them to learn to coordinate their movements together, but they soon got the hang of it, and they quickly began scrambling towards the cave's entrance.
As they reached the mouth of the cave, they saw the open fields, beyond, and for a moment, they were happy to be free. "Y'esss, wey're gonna be freee," Eric said, just in time to see a shadow drop in front of the cave.
Shiny, obsidian scales. Large, imposing wings. Definitely the dragon who had forced him to become this form. "Where are you two going, my little ones?" she crooned, obviously amused.
"Aoh, no, not her," Eric heard his other half remark.
"Now, now, Brian, that's no way to treat your mother," she said patiently. Eric realized that for a moment, she actually believed that she was their mother. The gall!
