“Oh my...” Muttered Madame Medusa to herself. The Queen of the Inhumans did much to live up to her namesake’s appearance. True her gaze could not turn people to stone (though her costume did include a black mask which covered much of her face) and while her hair was not composed of snakes, there was something undeniably serpentine about it.
It was bright red and long, very long, so long in fact that it fell down to her feet. Any normal woman who allowed her hair to grow to such lengths would have been horribly encumbered by it, needing to fear that they might trip or trod upon it with every step they took. Medusa however could control her hair (even making it grow longer) should the need arise) as easily as most people could move their fingers. Not only that but possessed strength far beyond the arms of most human body builders and remarkably deftness as well. There was no task that her hands could preform which her hair could not do as well.
At the moment the Inhuman Queen’s hair was mostly still though here and there a few tendrils of it floated up and down, up and down in an almost rhythmic pattern. She’d was serving as a member of the Fantastic Four because for the moment Susan Richards the Invisible Girl had departed from the team over differences with her husband and so they needed a forth.
Susan despite being occasionally overlooked by her male companions was quite a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, as Medusa knew since she and Susan had been foes once. Now however she only sought to be a worthy member of the Fantastic Four.
While the rest of the team was Medusa expected fast asleep, she went exploring the Baxter Building which would be her new home while she served on the team, and promptly discovered one of its kitchens. Slipping a single hair around the kitchen’s refrigerator door she pulled it open and marvelled at what lay inside.
The Fantastic Four kept their larders well stocked and looking at the bounty of food inside Medusa was painfully reminded of those horrible days she’d spent after waking up with no idea who she was, and how frequently she had gone hungry except for what she had been able to steal. Clearly she’d never have to worry about missing a meal as a member of one of New York’s most prominent superhero teams!
The Inhuman Queen licked her lips and nodded to herself, in fact she was rather certain that she could go with a snack right now, so why not help herself?
