This choice: Hannah tries to get proof. • Go Back... Hannah, wanting to prove that she was telling the truth and not just 'imagining things', she sneaked into your room to search for proof that you were working magic. She started by searching for anything large enough to hold potions, like her sister, Hayley had locked up in her own bedroom.
"Open and reveal." she whispered, waving her hand at your closet doors.
The doors opened immediately and Hannah began to use her magic to reveal any box or container large enough to hold the bottles and jars she had seen inside of Hayley's box of potions. To her dismay, she found nothing. Undaunted, she went down, onto her hands and knees to look under your bed. It was completely bare, she found nothing.
"It's got to be here, somewhere." she whispered to herself. "Think, Hannah." she paused. "John spends a lot of time in the basement, doing laundry..."
She smiled, then quickly returned the room to what it was and sneaked back out of your room to head for the basement. Unknown to her, you had seen her enter your room and watched her with increasing interest. "If Hannah has powers, then it is safe to assume that all of my sisters have it as well as mom." you thought, sticking to the shadows, following Hannah. "Let's see if she has what it takes to discover my secret on her own."
Following her to the basement, using your mind to make yourself seem invisible to other's eyes, you watched as Hannah began to search as thoroughly as a seven year old could before stopping in front of the washer and dryer. "I sense a lot of power behind that wall." she whispered. "This must be it!" she then frowned. "But how do I get in?"
"Come on, Hannah." you thought, wanting to encourage her. "Figure it out..."
After a moment of thought, Hannah took a deep breath, summoning her power then held her hand out with the palm up and cast her spell. "Unlock the wall that becomes a door, open to me the path that lies before. Reveal thy secrets that hath been kept far too long so my brother may feel he truly belongs..."
As Hannah cast her spell, you sensed that her power was very strong. However, the safeguards, left by uncle Jack, were stronger still and the door did not open. You began to feel sorry for Hannah, as she started to cry, her spell having no effect when she had gotten so close.
"She deserves a reward." you thought, then whispered, Einstein's Merlin."
Hannah, not aware of your help, let out a low shriek of surprise as the washer and dryer moved on their own to opposite sides of the room. Curious, she then watched as you vanished from the basement and stood waiting as and the middle section of the wall lowered into the ground, revealing a massive, well lit, chamber. Hannah was excited, though momentarily blinded by the light of the massive chamber beyond the wall.
"I found it." she thought, somewhat confused. "But what did I find?"
"Congratulations, Hannah." you said, startling her. "You have found my secret laboratory with your own power instead of asking your older sisters for help, I am impressed."
Becoming adjusted to the light, Hannah saw you standing in front of her. "I thought... you had magic." she said, softly.
You chuckled. "You are close." you said, offering your hand. "I have powers, through science, that are equal to magic."
"Powers through science?" asked Hannah. she then smiled. "Pseudo magic!"
You hushed her quiet. "Do you want to tell the whole neighborhood?" you asked, scolding. "If word of my powers get out, especially to our girl hating cousin, Tim..."
Hannah shivered that the thought of Tim having any power. "Sorry." she said, more quietly. "I got excited."
You smiled. "Forget it, sis." you said. "Sorry I had to give you a headache earlier, would you like the grand tour?"
Hannah eagerly nodded and you led her inside as the doors silently closed behind you.
