Mrs. Frost, a 60--something, stern librarian, was standing above them, in front of the table they were at.
"May I ask what you're doing?" She inquired sharply.
Robert stared at her, pale faced, and Nico was still under the table. After what seemed like forever without saying anything, Robert blurted out "I dropped my book!"
"And I went to get it" Nico added "And then we both moaned because I hit my head on the table and dropped the book on his barefoot right before you came over!" Nico got out from under the table, WITH a book that happend to have been left on an empty chair at the table, and sat back in his seat. "Sorry for being so load, ma'am."
The day is saved?
"First of all," She began, eyeing them down with daggers for eyes, "You should NOT be barefoot in a library. Second, that book is NOT property of this library, someone's name is markered in on the cover. WHY do you have that? I suggest you little thieves put it back where you found it. Lastly, if you MUST be so load, do NOT be so load in MY library. If I have to come over here again, I will escort you promptly to the door. Understood?"
"Yes ma'am!" The boys utterted together.
Mrs. Frost gave a little scoff, spun around, and returned to the back room.
