Just Inuyasha and Kagome

After finally admitting their love for one another, Inuyasha and Kagome decided to take a few days for themselves. They were currently on their way to a small remote town in the mountains where they would spend a few days relaxing in hot springs.
"You know what Inuyasha?" said Kagome in her usual happy tone.
"What?" replied Inuyasha in his annoyed tone.
"Come on you're supposed to guess."
"No."
"Fine, I'll tell you. I am so glad that it is just you and I."
"What tired of having Miroku's hand on your a-"
"Sit Boy!" Inuyasha was then slammed into the ground thanks to the cursed beads around his neck. However, Kagome didn't know that the ground they were on was unstable. Suddenly, the ground around Inuyasha's hole gave way, taking Kagome with it. Thankfully the hole was only five feet deep so neither Inuyasha or Kagome were hurt.
As the smoke cleared, Kagome''s hand came to rest on something. It felt smooth and structured unlike the broken rocks and shifting dirt around her. Turning, Kagome found an odd box. It was wooden with golden borders and looked like it had been buried for years.
"Kagome you okay?" asked Inuyasha who was finally allowed to lift his head up.
"Yeah I'm fine. Look what I found." Crawling over to her, Inuyasha noted the box.
"What is that?"
"I don't know I just found it." Opening the box up, Kagome found an old book. Opening the book, Kagome found page after page of old chinese characters.
"Can you read any of it?" asked Inuyasha as he stood up.
"Not a bit," answered Kagome as she followed Inuyahs'a example.
"Well bring it along, we might be able to find someone in town who could possibly read it." Inuyasha then hoped out of the hole and then helped Kagome out.
