Luckily for you, the patrols don't seem to be particularly vigilant yet, after all they still have to pass the border to begin the actual skirmishes. You easily sneak past the camp guards, and make your way towards a large tent in middle of the Rylestian camp. As you keep getting closer, you can hear sounds of a heated conversation taking place inside...
"This is madness!" You hear an upset male voice coming from the tent
"My father provided me with full command over this army General Althor, I'd rather not have to report your insubordination to him later." A female voice, with a tone of authority replies to him
"Ugh... With all due respect your highness, your plan is insane! Our army here doesn't have the numbers to march straight for Coninze capital! We will get surrounded from all sides and slaughtered to a man before we are halfway there! I know you are eager to impress your father, but it's not the right way!" The man says, seemingly calming a bit after being reprimanded
"Don't underestimate me, General. My plan is far more than simply marching straight for their capital. I'm going to end this war, and bring my father entire Coninze territory to prove that he was right to assign me task of leading this army." The female voice continued, it certainly seemed like you arrived at just the right time...
"Our army here isn't prepared to besiege a capital! Take over a city or two close to the border sure, but not their capital! I've served in this army for over 15 years, it would do you well to listen to my advice Princess Kaira!" The male general says, clearly not having trust in abilities of the female, who was actually a Rylestian Princess apparently? Seems like their military traditions extend even to children of the ruler.
Just as you are listening, you notice a small hole in the tent, allowing you to glance inside! It's not the best possible view, as you can't see the general, but you get a quite good view of the princess... she has long red hair tied in a ponytail, and wears a rather fancy looking mix of cloth and plate armor in black and red colors of Rylestia, which gives her protection without being too heavy. She also has a sword at her side, which seems to be emitting some kind of glow... which makes you think it's probably better to avoid getting in combat with her, as that thing seems magical, maybe even some kind of family heirloom. You also notice that the princess seems in her early 20s at most, no wonder the clearly older General has his doubts about her ability to lead the army...
"I do listen to your advice General, I know you served my father well for years, but I have a plan, which I can't risk leaking out there for now. You have to trust me."The princess says
"If you say so, your highness... anyway, I will excuse myself." The general says, and you can hear him walking away
Few moments later an armored middle-aged man with an impressive beard leaves the tent, the General himself no doubt.
"That spoiled brat... just because military academy considered her a tactical and combat genius, doesn't make her judgement infallible!" He mumbled to himself once the princess presumably was unable to hear him anymore, and left towards other part of the camp.
Now's your chance! It would appear the Rylestian Princess, who also commands this army, is alone in her tent. Perhaps you can try to capture her and bring her to Coninze for interrogation? Someone like that would certainly be a very good leverage in the war as well! Of course you can try to interrogate on your way as well... the Queen would definitely appreciate someone as resourceful as you, and reward you handsomely.
