It takes a while, but you finally get close to where the old man told you to go. Of course there is always the possibility he was lying, but your gut instinct tells you that the man spoke the truth.
At the moment you are deep in the nearby forest, following the subtly marked path that you would never have noticed had the old man told you how to see it. The forest is dark around you, and the moon is hidden above the canopy of leaves. Normally you'd nervous, but now that you know what to expect there is no way a simple group of millipedes can nab you.
A breeze softly blows against your face, and you shiver at the sudden chill. Your head snaps up though, when you hear something like whispers on the gentle wind.
Up ahead you see a clearing, which is probably where you want to go. It looks like any normal clearing, only it is dead; twisted bare grey trees are withering, brown leaves cover the floor. A scorched tree stump marks a trail further into the creepy forest, but it is swathed in shadow and darkness. Moonlight basks the clearing in an eerie glow, and thin mist clings lightly to the air.
You approach the clearing with caution, easing your sword in its scabbard as you do. The sounds of wildlife, so very loud, were now silent. Entering the clearing, you hear something moving on the shadowed path.
Towards you.
Facing the trail where the sound was coming from, you draw your sword and readied yourself for... whatever. You peer into the mist, and see...
