"An old friend of mine..." replied Max vaguely. "Now get back to cooking!"

Not long afterward there was a knock on the front door. Bryan, furiously stirring another batch of pasta, heard Max lumber out of his easy chair over to the door.

CRASH!!

The sound of breaking furniture caused Bryan's heart to jump into his throat! He ran out of the kitchen and saw...
