Mario and Luigi looked up at the knee that was miles above them. The climb would be steep and physically exhausting, but they knew they had to press on. Their very lives depended on it. As Mario made a motion for Luigi to get ready, the ground beneath them shook.
"AAAH!" Luigi screamed. He crouched down until he he was the height of a pancake and hid himself within the security of his cotton green hat. Mario contained much more courage, however, and wouldn't be phased by a small earthquake albeit it wasn't really an earthquake.

Daisy extended her knee and stretched it out to examine her ankle. She felt a small presence there that wasn't great enough to warrant scratching, but at least warrant a small examination. She moved her head towards her right ankle and stared closely at the pores of her brilliant tan skin. She gasped in shock once she made her discovery.
---
Mario had stood his ground throughout the entire ordeal. Once the ground below him stopped, he looked to his brother to see if he was alright. Luigi slowly peaked out form underneath his hat and grew back to his original height. Mario could tell that his younger brother was still nervous, due to the persistent shaking of his knees. It was a completely mystery to Mario how Luigi had ever rescued him during those faithful years that had passed long ago. He would not ponder this thought too long however, as Luigi had gone back to recluse underneath his hat. Mario would soon find out why.
Mario's vision was soon filled by a giant eyeball. He took a step back. It was Daisy! Quickly reacting, he jumped up and down, waving his arms like a bird flying for the first time, trying to the giant princess' attention. It worked. The giant eyeball was replaced by a giant white finger which slowly scraped Mario and his cowardly brother up and into the hand of the Princess Daisy.
"Mario! Is that you!?"
Mario covered his ears in and bent down, wincing in pain. Daisy realized her mistake and apologized in a much softer voice. Mario got up and answered Daisy's question with his familiar catchphrase, "Yes, it's-a-me, Mario! I'm glad you found us Daisy. This makes our job much easier. Can you help us?"
Daisy thought for a moment. She literally had two people's lives in the palm of her hand.
