David stood his ground as the red-scaled dragonette barreled out at him. He waited, knowing that if he timed this wrong, it would most likely end badly for him. Closer...closer...
Suddenly he dodged Raven and brought his sword down towards the dragonette's head. Raven howled, seeing it just in time. He leaped to the side, but couldn't dodge it completely and the sword grazed his stomach. He made an odd throaty noise, that sounded almost like a laugh, and threw himself after David. The lycanthrope dodged, as if in a dance with Raven. They were moving together now, making it difficult for one to gain the advantage.
Suddenly Raven began to run to the left, but at the last second he swerved to the right and threw himself at David. The lycanthrope had been thrown off by the feint and was hit head on by the dragonette. Raven crowed in delight as David struggled to keep him at bay. It can't end like this. By the Gods, please not like this... He thought desperately.
David brought the pommel of his sword around and smacked Raven's head. The dragonette growled but would not get off. David had one hand at his throat, and with the other he continued to beat Raven with his sword.
