Chapter #4

Jim Reed, Student of Mr. Wolfstone

by: Johnny Foxx Author IconMail Icon
Jim was a rather plain young man, not much different in appearance from any other human boy. He was of average height for his race, kind of lanky in build, with messy brown hair and glasses. Though he didn't look particularly athletic, he was quite fast on his feet when he needed to be. A lifetime of running from hungry monsters seeking to add you to their body mass will do that to you.

But eventually, Jim grew tired of the running, and living in constant fear that today might be his last day of life. So he began studying magic. In this world, humans who know magic are the only ones considered as monsters, and therefore have a much longer life expectancy. By now, Jim could do a few basic spells to defend himself, but nothing really remarkable.

Jim also happened to be a student at the same high school where one Mr. Wolfstone taught his class. To be perfectly honest, Jim only signed on for this class not because he was interested in the subject, but because Mr. Wolfstone's class was the safest for humans. Mr. Wolfstone had a reputation for being a very stern and cold hearted man, but he absolutely would not allow any devouring of students in his classroom.

On this particular day, something was going to happen which would turn what would have been an otherwise ordinary day, into one Jim, and the school, would never forget. Just what is it that's going to happen?
