Chapter #6

A grim situation...

Richie was no doctor, but had studied medicine a bit in collage and could perform basic first aid along with mostly accurate diagnosis's of common ailments and injuries. From what he could tell Spider had suffered a broken rib or two along with a possible concussion and internal bleeding. He made sure Spider was comfortable and walked over to Eric who had just finish turning the bears head into pulp. "So, how is he?" Eric asked as he lowered his bloody club. Richie shook his head. "Several scratches, broken ribs, but what I'm most worried about is that he might have a concussion and internal bleeding. We might be able to help him if we can get our hands on some medical supplies, but there's a decent chance he won't make it through today." Eric frowned as he looked over at the hill. "There's no way we'll get to the city on time... finding that plane may be his only chance. Let's get moving." Richie nodded silently and went back over to Spider. "Can you walk?" He asked as he helped him to his feet. "Not by myself, hell, you should probably just leave me..." Spider said as he coughed up some blood.


"We're not doing that." Eric called as he took his bandana out of his backpack and wrapped it around Spiders still bleeding head. "You may not last the day, but we're not just gonna leave you." Eric said firmly as he continued walking towards the hill. "Try to keep him awake Richie, if he loses consciousness with a concussion he could fall into a coma." It took them a while, but the trio soon made it to the top of the hill without much trouble. Spider and Richie continued talking while Eric moved a little farther ahead to scout out the location. From his vantage point atop the hill it didn't take Eric long to spot the wreckage of the plane. A bit of smoke still lifted into the air over the twisted hunks of metal and flames. It was hard to tell, but Eric was sure he could see a few corpses among the destroyed plane... and some were still moving. Eric hadn't expected there to be any zombies left alive after what he had seen earlier, yet was smart enough to plan ahead just in case. He walked back to where Richie and Spider were waiting and...
