"Damn this economy!" Luna said as she walked back to her apartment. The job interview, her third this week, had not gone well. At the first one, they had kicked her out for snacking on the receptionist. At the second, she soon realized that the job in question involved cameras and nudity. At the interview on that day, however, things had started off fairly well. June had worn casual clothes: faded jeans, a babydoll tee with a band logo on it, and an olive green stocking cap. Likewise, the job looked casual, but interesting, at a media store with easy access to and an employee discount on new albums from bands like "Gallbladder" and "Metal Candyland".
It was all going peachy until her potential employer, a human female with hoop earrings, asked about previous sales experience. Luna didn't have any. In fact, she had been caught shoplifting six times back home, and as luck would have it, the woman had heard about it.
And so, Luna walked home.
"No job, parents aren't sending more money, lousy grades..." she grumbled. "I wish things could take a turn for the better for once!" She stopped in front of the main door to the apartment complex and looked up and down the street slowly. Then, she saw him! A hunky jackel without a shirt on across the street in the old basketball court. She had met him last night at a rave but hadn't caught his phone number. He was playing basketball with several anthros and a couple humans. She ran her tongue along her bottom teeth thoughtfully. This could be a good opportunity...
