Chapter #6Failing/bad grades by: twain jr   As Rebecca's mom Tara looked at the package in the mail, she new she wouldn't be happy. Going up to her room and locking the door so no one would see her reaction, she steeled herself to open it. What was this ominous package? A foreclosure notice? A huge overdue bill? No, money was fine at the Clark household. Inside the package were Rebecca's grades.
"OK, I've prepared myself for the worst, how bad could it be?" Tara thought out loud.
Slowly, she pulled the sheet of doom out of the envelope, reading it as it came out.

"Oh. My. ****ing ****! Point Five!" Exclaimed Tara. "I don't even know what to do about this, what could have caused this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I knew she wasn't near Honor Roll, but this is abismal! OK, calm down Tara. Lets just go through the possibilities. First of Facebook. I never shouold have let her get an account, so I can at least remove that right away. Cell phone too, I don't know what possessed me to buy her one with an unlimited texting contract. What else? Those don't help grades, but they can't be solely responsible for this monstrosity! Think, Tara, think! Oh no, of course! Cheerleading! She spends three hours or more a day at practice. That's all time she could be studying! And Darren, too! She spends a minimum two hours a day talking to or going on dates with him!"
Then she saw another sheet in the envelope. It was the results of a survey each student had to fill out. Most of it was generic survey crap, but one thing was special.
(Tara's thoughts)
"What are the three most important things in your life?"
----My family(at least there's one positive in this), my friends(No Facebook, no cell phone, that's taken care of), and my body!
"Oh my gosh, I know how to punish her. If the thing she values most is her body, then I have to take that away from her. Wait, I'm her mom, I couldn't do that! Could I?" Wondered Tara. One more glance at Rebecca's grades gave her the answer she needed. She would do anything for her daughter's future, and if she didn't have a good figure, Darren would dump her, and she couldn't go out for cheerleading in High School.
